Feedback wanted

Thanks to everyone who reads and enjoys the blog for your support! As I have often done in the past, I am once again pondering format. Over four years ago (!), I created this blog to replace mass mails, just to update friends and family on what we were up to given that we were so far away. I adapted that over time to increase frequency of posting to make it more worthwhile and more interesting to read (and write, frankly). That evolved to more general sharing of thoughts and experiences. Lately, lack of interaction has frustrated me, so I've brought it back more to updates...but (once again) I'm not finding that to be quite enough. What do you like? Is there anything you want to see/read more often? I'd like for this to continue to be an enjoyable space for all of us, so I would appreciate your feedback.
Thanks for your help!

Hi, new girl here....I think you should write about what interests you (at the moment you feel like posting something)..I've tried and stopped many blogs (I have no staying power). Sometimes I'm interested in writing about funny things that happen, sometimes posting pictures, what I cooked that day (if it was good!), sewing projects (when I'm in the mood)...I should have stuck with one blog and just had it be about a bunch of different stuff.

I think Julia has a great point. I love the updates and think they are a valuable part of the blog, and I also think you should post about other stuff that interests you when you want to post. From a totally selfish, what would I like to see more of standpoint...I love reading about what you're cooking. I'm super excited that you started the food blog again as I was sad to see it go the first time (it hasn't let me post for some reason, but I wanted to let you know that I have read it). However, if it would be easier for you to combine it with this blog, like a recipe post when you have a great one, then by all means post it here. Ultimately, it's whatever works best for you and what you are happy with.

Not having the level of interaction that you want must be frustrating (it would be for me), but I don't think that that means that you don't have a lot of readers...just that for whatever reason, they don't post...maybe they don't have time or they're shy about posting.

You know I'm an avid reader of your blog, and that I'll continue to read it no matter what you're blogging about! I truly enjoy coming here to read what you've written, and I'm one of those who checks it several times a day to see if there is anything new to read. I think that the most important thing is that you are satisfied with what you have created here.

As for all of the readers of this blog that are out there...post and let Jen know you are here!

Sending lots of love your way and looking forward to the feedback you recieve!

The blog should absolutely be what YOU want it to be. Remember, you can't please all of the people all of the time!

Personally, I love seeing what you and your girls are up to, and updating Sophie on "Ellie'n'BabyStephanie" (as well as putting you up on a pedestal as a hands-on-fabulously-creative-great-cook-enthusiastic-Wonder Mum!).

Thanks so much, ladies! I appreciate not only your feedback but also your promptness! Very impressive (and helpful)! I think you are all pretty much on the same page, which is fantastic! It's a page I like myself. There are so many things I'd like to include on this blog, and it seems you are encouraging me to just go with it. For now, the cooking blog will remain separate, but I don't mind that now that I secured a name I enjoy. Karly, that's actually why it got dropped the first time around. All the names I could think of were taken, so I just went with "blitzpampersfood", and immediately my foodie friend gail pointed out that I'd put the words "pampers" and "food" way too close together for anything contained therein to be appetizing. You've always been great blog support, and I appreciate how you have continued that from the start of this adventure!

julia, you are going to set a gold standard as a newbie to the blog but most frequent commenter! Thank you for being such an active reader! I look forward to getting to know you through your comments and through your own blog.

Gayle, don't put me on any pedestals as I'm quite accident-prone and apt to fall off. This should never be a space anyone could find threatening or smug. I'm a big learner and do-er, and I just want to share. Still, I'm so happy you stuck with me and Sophie has too!

Anyone else who was inclined to comment, please don't consider the subject closed just because I've responded. I am still quite open to feedback! Thanks!

Don't worry, it's a nice, user-friendly, fluffy, surrounded-by-homemade-lavender-hearts pedestal!! x

Hello sweetheart,

I am reading your blog for the first time in several days. Here at the hospital, we have been issued a "weather emergency", and I have been required to be here for 6 days now, except for Monday. It seems I will be here throught the weekend as well. I am not complaining, happy to be available to do my part, believe me.

What I want you to know is I have not read this entry to your blog before now.

I love love love your blog, everything about it. I think you are an amazing and talented writer and photographer, on top of an AMAZING Mom and wife. I would deeply and dearly miss you every single day if you stopped. If you change it up, I will love it. If it stays the same, I will love it. I love it, because I love YOU, and it is SO YOU!! Special and fun and spunky and spirited and dear and ALWAYS fascinating.

In short, you rock, chica!

I love you, and I bet hundreds others do too. Sometimes it is easy at the end of a long day to peek at your blog but not respond. Sometimes I feel like other people don't want to see notes from your Mom, day after day. But I love what you do and how you do it.

And that's what I have to say about that!

XXXOOO,

Mom
