We're not TV watchers. Movies, heck yes, but TV is a no. Commercial interruptions make me crazy, the increased volume makes Markus crazy, and the products they promote are (in our opinion) often pointless. Many TV shows aren't much better, so we just opt out of the whole deal. Of course, I know this puts us way out of US mainstream. Americans are a TV watching people, but I have to say I was still surprised to find a TV on the gas pump this afternoon. I had an empty tank, so hi-ho-hi-ho, off to pump gas I go...and found myself watching "NBC at the pump". I am so out of the loop.

I'm out of the loop too, as that was a total suprise to me...but you know, things do take longer to catch on down here in Mississippi ;)
Karly
Karly you beat me to the punch! I haven't see a gas pump with a TV.
I beat you! We've had tvs at the station near my parent's house for months. They are loud and annoying. I was just telling my mom the other day how I used to love the noxious and relaxing process of waiting to fill your tank in peace.
Yay Shell?
;-)
Perhaps they are there to take our minds off the exploding gas prices??? ...coming from someone who was used to paying just $.60/gal last year at this time : )
Hi Kelcey! Welcome! No, not in Dohot anymore where the gas is literally cheaper than water. I remember the good ol' days of fueling our big car for around $13. Now it's more like 100 Euro! Ouch.
Ladies, it has been suggested in an email joke that gas stations will start showing porn at the pump so while we fill our tanks, we can all watch others getting screwed at the same time. Perhaps this solves the TV mystery...
